Classification of Feeder

1. Tray feeder
The pallet feeder can be divided into a single-layer structure and a multi-layer structure. The single-layer pallet feeder is directly installed on the feeder frame of the mounter and occupies multiple slots, which is suitable for the case where there is not much pallet material; The multi-layer pallet feeder has multiple layers of automatic transfer trays, which occupies small space and is compact in structure. It is suitable for the case where there are a large number of pallet materials. Most of the panel-mounted components are various IC integrated circuit components.
When using tray-type materials, care should be taken to keep exposed components at large tube corners to prevent damage to mechanical and electrical properties during transportation and use. When using TQFP, PQFP, BGA, TSOP and SSOP components in the tray, the tray size can reach 150mm × 330,2 mm, and the height is 25,4 mm. Interestingly, the tray-type feeder can not only supply the mounter to pick up components, but also serve as a dumping station for valuable components.
2. Belt feeder
Belt feeders are commonly used in mounter feeders. Traditional structural methods include wheeled, claw, pneumatic and multi-pitch electric types. Now they have developed into high-precision electric types. Compared with traditional structures, the high-precision electric type has higher transmission accuracy, faster feeding speed, more compact structure, and more stable performance, which greatly improves production efficiency.
3. Bulk material box feeder
Bulk material box feeder, also known as vibrating feeder, works by freely loading components into a molded plastic box or lid, and feeding components into the chip machine in turn using a vibrating feeder or a feeding tube. This method is usually used for MELF and small-profile semiconductor components, and is only suitable for non-polar rectangular and cylindrical components, but not for non-polar components.
4. Pipe feeder
Pipe feeders usually use vibration feeders to ensure that components in the tube continue to enter the suction position of the chip head. Generally, PLCC and SOIC use this method to feed materials. Tubular feeders have the characteristics of good protection for component pins, poor stability and standardization, and low production efficiency.
